A lifetime of sleep

TruLabs Sleep improves your sleep quality

A lifetime of sleep

During your life, you’ll spend about 227,760 hours in bed. That’s 26 years of sleep (in an average 79-year lifespan). You may also spend seven years just trying to get to sleep. Your sleep needs change over time, and you’ll sleep less as you age.

If you have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep, you aren’t alone. It’s a very common problem, but TruLabs Sleep formula can help. TruLabs SLEEP is a delicious drink that can help you relax, fall asleep faster and stay asleep, and wake up refreshed without feeling groggy.

Even babies don’t sleep like babies

As any parent knows, babies sleep in spurts, napping and waking throughout the day and night. They sleep for 16 to 20 hours out of each 24-hour cycle.

As you age, your need for sleep changes.

  • Toddlers (ages 1 to 4): 11 to 12 hours
  • Teens: 9 hours
  • Adults: 7 to 8 hours

How and when we sleep changes throughout life. During those early years, young children go from one or two naps a day to getting all their sleep at once during the night.

Sleeping your life away

But some adolescents don’t feel sleepy until late at night. In response to natural changes in their circadian rhythms, teens tend to stay up later and rise later in the morning. Unfortunately, this leads to very sleepy high school students during the first class of the day. If they succumb to sleeping in longer on weekends, they can further disrupt their natural sleep patterns.

The types of sleep, REM and NREM sleep patterns, also change as you grow. Babies and children get more slow-wave (N3) sleep. Slow-wave sleep is a non-dreaming, deep sleep that restores your energy. Research shows that this declines as you age.

Then, the golden years

Sleep is lighter and more fragmented for older adults, who are likelier to wake during the night. TruLabs SLEEP can be especially helpful during this stage of life.

Our SLEEP formula combines the amino acid GABA, magnesium, melatonin, valerian, and passionflower. These plant-based sleep aids have been used for centuries to promote relaxation and sleep. In studies, low magnesium levels are associated with poor sleep, insomnia, depression, and anxiety.

Sleep, diet, and exercise

We know that good sleep is an important lifestyle habit – along with diet and exercise. When you sleep well, you’ll feel healthier, more energetic, and more productive — and may even live longer.

TruLabs SLEEP can help you get the vital rest your body and mind need to function as your best self.

To use SLEEP, follow these instructions:

  • Try SLEEP, at least seven nights in a row, to allow your body to get accustomed to the benefits.
  • Drink it 15 minutes before bed to receive 7-8 hours of quality sleep.
  • Take half of the packet if you sleep less than your usual hours.
  • If you often get up at night to use the bathroom, start with 4 ounces instead of 8 ounces.

You should also follow good sleep hygiene rules to give yourself the best chance of falling asleep quickly and sleeping through the night.

Age and health affect how you sleep

As you get older, you may find yourself going to sleep earlier and getting up earlier, and not sleeping through the night. A contributing factor may be that we produce less melatonin, the sleep hormone, as we age. You can boost your melatonin levels through exercise and getting out in the sunlight each morning.

Medical conditions can also contribute to these problems. Sleep is hard if you have trouble breathing, pain, anxiety, or mental distress. Unfortunately, an ongoing sleep deficit can increase your risk and severity of diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity, and depression.

TruLabs SLEEP and good sleep hygiene can help you get the rest you need. If you continue to have trouble sleeping, consult your doctor or a sleep specialist.
